Talk: Beneath the skin – an intimate look at our bodies
October 30, 2025 @ 7:30 pm - 9:30 pm
From £10
Altered State returns with a new talk, taking a fresh look at how bodies are seen in medicine.
From the influence of tradition and male bias to the blind spots of race and gender. Have female sexual organs had the attention they deserve? We’ll explore how priorities in surgery are arrived at and what we can do to compensate.
Altered State host Eliz Mizon will be joined by:
Gabriel Weston – surgeon, author and mother of 4
Gene Feder – Professor of Primary Care at University of Bristol
The event will be followed by a book signing with Gabriel
