From £12Saxophonist Duncan Eagles has previously appeared at the club with Estraven and Jack Yardley’s Wayne Shorter project, but tonight we’re pleased to welcome him back with his own group Partikel.
Partikel take unique and fresh look at the saxophone trio format, their exciting live performances lead them to being dubbed as “One of the hottest young bands on the UK scene” – JazzWise. Over the past ten years the trio have forged a reputation as “one of the most exciting trios in improvised music” – Jazz Podium. They have released four albums with the latest one being nominated for a parliamentary jazz award in the Album of the Year category. They recently released their fifth album with German based label Berthold Records which celebrates the band’s 10 year anniversary.

Throughout their career so far they have toured all around the world performing their music at venues and festivals such as Shanghai Jazz Festival, Vancouver Jazz Festival, Rochester Jazz Festival (New York), Cadogan Hall (London Jazz Festival), Love Supreme and Seville Jazz Festival.

As one of the premier bassists of his generation in the UK, Max Luthert is known for his distinctive bass sound, approach to improvisation and is quickly generating a name for himself as a composer and band leader. In the last couple of years Max has been performing around the world with artists such as Zara McFarlane, Moses Boyd, Ralph Wyld and Gabriel Zucker.
Drummer Eric Ford appears on more than fifty CDs, and besides his work with Partikel has also played with Ronnie Laws, Jason Rebello, Guy Barker and many more. In 2015 and 2016 he presented masterclasses at the China Drum Summit in Beijing alongside some of the world’s best known drummers.
