Two improvisers order tea and coffee. The improvisers are also given a slice of Funk Cake. Neither of the improvisers know ahead of time what emotions are baked into their delicious treats. But the only way out of those emotions is to eat the entire piece of cake before them. Every. Last. Crumb. Only then can their emotional state shift and change. Reality is temporary; film is permanent. But did any of that really happen? \nFairly Non-Bio is the brainchild of Cathal Dowd\, drawing together improvisers from across Bristol\, including performers from The Groundhogs\, I Don’t Know What You’ll Do This Summer\, Beansville\, and more. After successful launch performances at the Bristol Improv Theatre in 2025\, Fairly Non-Bio continue to perform regularly across Bristol. \n[2] BIRDWATCHERS\nBirdwatchers are a two-prov team made up of Anna Kemp (This is Your Musical) and Paige Tummons (Jazz Police). In their original “epilogue” format\, Birdwatchers explore the present and past of 2 characters reminiscing together. He founded the Bournemouth University Improv Society in 2017; is the Director of Bristol Longform Comedy; has taken two improv shows to the Edinburgh Fringe; has travelled all over the UK with The Groundhogs; and currently performs with Blame of Thrones in Bristol. \nVicky Lane completed her improv training at the Comedy Cafe Berlin\, where she performed with Gummy Worms\, Northern Soul and a host of indie teams. After completing her acting training at the Catalyst Institute Berlin\, she has returned to the UK and is making her mark on the Bristol arts scene. Some mild pub-related adult humour) \nA professional songwriter & performer of over 20 years\, Jerseyman Ant Noel forged his career in the creative heartlands of Bristol & Somerset\, before returning to his home island in 2019.\nBetween 2010 – 2018\, Ant released four solo albums – with backing band The Peabody Drakes – performing perform at festivals & venues across the South West\, including several appearances for the BBC. In 2014\, Musician Magazine picked Ant’s third album The Water’s Line as one of their “stand out” releases. \nIn 2019\, Ant began writing Midnight Joanna\, an immersive show inspired by experiences hosting open mics and playing in pubs & piano bars (including the fondly-remembered Illusions Magic Bar where Ant held residency for over 5 years). With a large ensemble of professional musicians & actors – supported by arts organisations ArtHouse Jersey & Creative Island Partnership – Midnight Joanna premiered to three sell-out audiences in October 2024.
